Advertising is evil. No, make that Eeeeeeeeeevil.

Yeah, i know. Big surprise that.

Every once in a while, there's just something in an ad which is so eyecatching that it's just compelling. I found one of those today.

Celebrity Cruises has a partnership with Cirque du Soliel. They're combining to do a series of cruises which will feature CdS performers onboard as part of the entertainment. Page 30 of the current issue of Travel + Life has a copy of the print ad promoting these special cruises- called The Bar at the Edge of the Earth- contact your local Virtuoso travel agent for a copy (obligatory corporate plug).

I want to go on a cruise now. Specifically one of these. I'm not a "big boat" person. I like sailboats- give me a nice little sailboat, and i'll be happy, or even something like the ones [livejournal.com profile] gwynn_aaron occasionally touts- they're designed generally for under a hundred people, not thousands.

If i can't track down a digital version of the ad before i leave work today, i'll take a picture of it and post it so that you see why.

Here's the image from the Celebrity Cruises- Cirque du Soleil advertisement i'd mentioned earlier. My apologies for the flash flare on the right side of the image, but i'm working from glossy stock and without a copy stand. Hopefully i'll be able to track down the original and show it off in all of it's splendour soon enough- or will take the time to retouch this enough to hide the worst of it.. A half-hour in Photoshop has removed most of the flare to a somewhat passable level.
