damashita a micromaille handflower- it'll be a custom design (which already exists in my head) in violet, aqua, rose and gold anodized titanium, but when i finish with that, i'm again seriously thinking about maille corsetry.
Designs are probably all going to have to be full overbust or completely underbust- i'm not sure it'd be possible to do anything with a demi-cup and have it actually functionally supportive. As nice as styles like this or this. are, i'm thinking that they're going to be, well, tricky; but that something like this or this is much more do-able; and this one might be really interesting.
Front or side-lacing is probably going to be the best way to go, for both practicality and convenience; and the metal of choice will probably be anodized aluminum, strictly from weight and cost perspectives, not to mention the array of pretty colours- a finished piece will probably go somewhere around 6-8 pounds; unless a discriminating prospective client would have both the capability of footing the bill for anodized niobium, titanium, or black stainless steel as well as the capability of carrying fifteen to twenty pounds of metal around.
One way or another, showing up at the proper event in something like this would be pretty much a guaranteed way to catch every eye in the place. ;-)
