Kinda an indifferent day work wise. Didn't get a whole lot accomplished that was really relevant to what i get paid to do, but did have a long running discussion with heddo98 on a fairly wide range of topics running from television and music through the reflection of the Divine within humanity; and helped CoryC troubleshoot a problem that had ended up in his inbox relating to a spontaneous power-down that was being reported by a handful (eight, i think) of users in the Czech Republic and Slovakia logging into the MS corporate network. Set up a pair of machines- one with a localized Czech interface, one with English Windows with the Czech multilanguage user interface- needed to rule out the operating system as a cause of the problem, even though all signs seemed to point to the users' login scripts. Anyway, i found that i still read a little bit of Czech here and there- and between those little bits and the bits Cory can understand from speaking a little Russian (there are some cognates, even if the languages use different character sets) we pretty much confirmed that it wasn't a Windows problem.
I miss troubleshooting weird issues almost as much as i like having conversations with interesting, intelligent people. Got to do both within the same day. Score!

Now I feel a bit guilty... I thought you said you were bored and wanted conversation. I didn't know you were so busy at work or I would have not kept a 10-hour conversation going....
It was nice chatting with you though. I learned a lot!

I was bored. The stuff i was helping Cory with was so far outside the boundaries of my job description it was pretty much in another time zone. Not to mention that it wasn't that time consuming.
