Jun. 2nd, 2002 12:45 pmWell, dear friends, i've been writing again. Didn't do anything on Melpomene's Daughter although there's still quite a bit of work to be done on it. Instead, i had a bit of verse kicking around in my skull which kept rattling around until i let it out.
More precisely, two poems. The first one should be pretty self-explanatory; the second is yet another attempt to capture something in verse about the Morrigan.
I'm breaking my tradition of having to like something the next day in order to share it- i'm not going to pass judgement on either of these two aside from noting that the second one isn't quite powerful enough for its subject, and may either get completely scrapped or become an early evolutionary form that gets reworked and revised until it's significantly stronger than it is now.
Without further ado, then, i present "Night" and "Phantom Queen":

Night |
| From within the void |
| Phantom Queen |
| Primal, visceral, Majestic in her way- The fire of passions in Her blood. She is The awesome Queen in battle, The impassioned kiss At the moment of death, The wanton desire in a lover's eyes At the point of release. She is Terrible and wonderful, Manifest sovreignty The she-wolf guarding her young, The raven fluttering over fallen prey. |
