ravencallscrowsPoor alexander has had a weird and difficult day.
He and his brother got personal CD players with headphones, so we burned each of them a CD of music they selected before going out and got pronounced coolest parents in the world. Most of the day was pretty low-key- we ran errands and scoured north Capitol Hill for properties for lease or sale. We'll probably talk with some finance folk (is this what you're doing,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
echoeversky, or is it more the real-estate end you do?) about prequalifications just to see what we might be able to afford to buy- my guess is that it may be surprising and look into lease-option or zero-down possibilities. I'd rather not have to move again.
Anyway, back to thedarkmuffin story. With new CD player accompanying him everywhere today, he was a pretty jubilant kid- until our last stop. At it, he managed to drop the unit- and not just anywhere, but between an elevator doorway and the floor- a space about an inch wider than the unit itself. Remarkably, the headphones didn't come unplugged, or it'd have fallen over four stories, and he used the cord to carefully pull it back up- which utterly freaked him out.
