Nov. 2nd, 2006 06:27 pmWhat's your all-time favorite team(s)?:
MLB: None of the Above.
NHL: Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators
NFL: eh, i'll watch the Seattle Seahawks while reading, and usually have football on on Sundays during the season.
NCAA: Richmond Spiders
Others: Seattle Thunderbirds (Western Hockey League), Canadian national women's hockey team; BC Lions (Canadian Football League).
How did you become a fan?: Grew up playing hockey, spent 3+ years as a desk reporter mainly on sports desk.
Favorite player(s) currently on the team?:
Sticking with the NHL- Nicklas Lidstrom, Kris Draper; Daniel Alfredsson.
Favorite player(s) of all-time?:
Steve Yzerman, Igor Larionov, Martin Havlat, Cassie Campbell (yum!)
Has your team won a championship in your lifetime?: 1997, 1998, 2002 Stanley Cup - Red Wings; 1990, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 World Championship, 2002, 2006 Olympic Championships, 2006 Clarkson Cup - Canadian national hockey.
Where were you when it happened?: Home in metro Seattle for the three Wings' Cups.
How many times do you watch your favorite team on TV a year?: Wings/Sens- probably 30+ games apiece a year. Thank you, Centre Ice.
How many times do you see your team LIVE a year?: Rarely. 1 Red Wings-Canucks game this millenium.
How far (mileage wise) do you live from your team's stadium/arena?: About 2350 miles to Joe Louis Arena; 2850 to Scotiabank Place. 16 miles to Seahawks Field at Qwest Stadium. I'd actually go to a Seahawks game if someone gave me tickets, but seriously doubt I'd buy them.
How much merchandise of your favorite team do you have?: I collect hockey jerseys. I have about a dozen, including 2 Red Wings ones, current and inaugural season Senators road and home jerseys.
Nosebleeds or lower level?: Best I can afford. If that's the T-birds, we've been as low as right behind the bench, which is too low for hockey. 5-7 rows up is optimal.
What's the craziest thing you've done at your team's games?: Errr, there was a Canucks fan who tried to pick a fight with me after we watched the Wings wax the 'Nucks.
