Nov. 1st, 2006 09:36 pmAt the advice of someone with some experience with Ayurvedic medicine, i've just started a new routine said to help clear out the lungs from the remnants of bronchitis and the like. Nightly, i'm supposed to make tea with basil leaf and a bit of honey, and drink this just before bed every night for a month per decade- even if it seems to clear up before the end of this duration. So, by the end of February, the various detritus accumulated in my lungs over nearly forty years should have all been flushed out.
I'm a bit skeptical, but in general have more faith in 'alternative' medicine than in the assorted pills and liquids which comprise the pharmacopia of the Western world, and figure this wouldn't have persisted for millenia in the Indian sub-continent if it weren't effective
