Well, work's not all bad. Today i got an upgraded laptop. It's a 2GHz Pentium M with 1GB RAM and a 50+ GB hard drive, built in 802.11a/b/g wireless. I'm sitting in my living room typing on it right now, seven whole feet away from damashita, who's noodling online from the desktop machine.

Now to get some of the essentials downloaded and on it- Firefox and Opera are already installed, but there are a few other downloadables which would be handy.

Oh. One other notable thing about today. I'm 95% certain that someone was flirting with me, and i'm not quite sure yet what to make of it. For that matter, i don't know if it was serious or intended as play-flirtation, or even what difference it would make one way or the other.

To make matters worse, the woman who was doing it manages to hit most of my archetypal points- she's adult sized (none of these underdeveloped sorts who wear clothing in single digits. I think i outgrew that in the mid- to late-eighties), intelligent, capable of holding mutable conversations, witty, self-confident and the like.
