May. 12th, 2003 09:57 pmOK, i'm freaking out just a little bit tonight. It all started when i got the car seat put together and took it out and put it in the van, all set up for a newborn. I'd forgotten just how small they are.
Now, all of a sudden, it's immanent that this little new person will be here- realistically some time in the next three weeks.
damashita has been having Braxton-Hicks "practice" contractions fairly regularly for the last few days. They're 7-15 minutes apart, and lasting a minute and a half to two and a half minutes.
damashita was over visiting her counsellor today, and stopped in to see the midwives on her way out- and M. had a present for us- a purple baby sling- which i'll use, since it's my turn to carry the baby for the next nine months after s/he arrives. :-)
In completely unrelated matters:
Went poking around in the yard a bit today, and noticed the first roses of the season starting to open. Took a few pictures of them, and liked one of them enough to share—

I'm doing a bit of Photoshop noodling with this image, and will probably have derivative bits from it to show shortly.
And for something completely different: A few months ago, someone had posted a link to a blog run by someone who worked in a porn store, detailing some of the human foibles and odd ancedotes. I've found one that's even more intriguing- Peep Show Stories. This blog is written by a Seattle peep-show girl under the name Pagan Moss, who writes lucidly and entertainingly about the oddities encountered in her line of work. It's quite amusing, and should be work-safe in that there's no graphic content (if you want that, check out the related Sensuality Liberation Army, which presents interesting and [so far] tasteful nudes, mainly of artistic style).
( OK, OK, i'll share the derivative idea i.m playing with, even though it's not finished (NOT work-safe). )
