Is it time to go home yet?
Jan. 17th, 2002 12:18 pmFour new bugs entered. All related. Excel in Hindi. See why I'm not excited?
See why I want a new job? I mean, I don't even read Hindi (or Arabic, Thai or Vietnamese, and only a tiny bit of Hebrew) but I gotta test stuff in it.
I need to do some more writing on my novella- havent touched it in a month or so now.
Reports are coming in that it's snowing at home, and I'm still stuck in Redmond. Maybe it'll snow enough that I don't have to come in here tomorrow.

This ranks as more enjoyable than oral surgery, but not by much.
I can now tell you how many files there are in Hindi Office. Now the fun part. Comparing them to English Office to see what ones are different. Then I get to compare Arabic to English, and between the difference lists, should be able to account for most all of them. If I can't, it's probably a bug. Oh, joy.
Did I mention that this whole process is as exciting as watching the cracks in the sidewalk dry up after it stops raining?

Well, just got back from the celebration of the group birthdays for the month. Hung out with my pal Liz. If there's one thing sure to make you feel better about yourself, it's to hang around with someone who has worse problems than you do. At least I'm happy with my domestic partner and progeny (well, most of the time, anyway).
I can't help but think that, as much as she bitches about being miserable at home and at work that she's not going to ever do anything about it. Life's too short to always be bummed. I guess, though, that this way she can border on being a flirt and or a tease without having to ever do anything if someone calls it- makes me wonder if it's just an attention ploy.
Regardless, it was a neat way to spend an hour of work time while having a real excuse for not working. Sometimes I'm too cynical- or is that overly analytical?
Planning on trying to kick the PaganIDEA constitutional group in the ass tonight, since no one else seems to be doing it. I think I'll just post a few articles, and we'll see if anyone can be troubled to respond.

Jan. 17th, 2002 05:54 pmFinally home from work. Decided I'm taking tomorrow off, just out of general principle. Not overwhelmingly motivated, but feeling considerably more energetic than usual. Alexander's hovering around asking thousands of questions, as usual, and being more than slightly annoying.
Still considering various web hosting options, and whether I really have enough of merit to need to clog up the net more than it already is. Bugger that. It's probably as close to my fifteen minutes of fame as I'll ever get.

Jan. 17th, 2002 10:30 pmYawwwwn!
Been so incredibly tired of late. Well, at least it's not completely dark on the way to and from work anymore- a sure sign that we're approaching Spring. Imbolc is two weeks off :-)
Got quite a bit of nothing done tonight, although vanessa got her backstory written for the role-playing game in which we're taking part- and with a few days to spare, even.
Gotta tackle the constitutional work tomorrow.
