Interview today. I think it went pretty well, but won't know for certain until some time late next week. The company advertised for a QA analyst, but according to the corporate VP who i interviewed with, the position is more like tester-slash-technical writer-slash-trainer, which should be right up my alley— although he may find other good testers, or writers, or trainers, i don't think he's going to have a particularly easy time finding all three in one. Jacks-of-many-trades aren't all that common, and i'm willing to go heads up against any of 'em out there.

If that doesn't pan out, there's still one more position i hope to hear about. Then there is a back-burner, low-percentage chance something will open up with the devs i worked with at Cavedog who hunted me down- at present, the publisher who's doing their project plans to do test on it.

Also heard recently that a friend (and one of the guys i car-pooled with for a year+) is leaving MS to return to Montana, and his boss is getting two headcount to replace him. Not going to hold my breath, but Jon is one of the few people at MS i'd work for, cause unless it's an amazing position, otherwise i'm so not interested in going back there.
