Soccer Practice Week Two
Sep. 6th, 2003 05:00 pmEnded up being able to go after all, but arrived a bit after the 11:00 start. The field at Seattle U wasn't any worse than the Interbay one we used last week- a few irregular places and a few drainage marshes. Missed a little loosening up, but adapted on the fly. Playing in goal helps a bit with that, especially since we're trying to get some of our abject beginners a little confidence- i wasn't diving for everything today, especially with a still slightly sore right thigh.
Ended up playing right midfield in a condensed field scrimmage just to even out the numbers. Didn't feel too bad running at that, either, but my conditioning is definitively lacking.
Are any of the others who read this perhaps interested in a Saturday soccer practice- starting no earlier than 10 a.m.? It'd be nice to have a few more people playing so that we can hopefully get into the Seattle Parks & Rec league in the winter. Any takers?
krautboy?
hockeypuck14? (i know both of you have played or coached before, or said something to indicate you've at least a marginal interest) Not sure if any of the female readers have a history, but it is a co-ed team, and some of the people playing have played for two weeks or less now, so there's no super skill level you'd have to overcome. Since i've singled out a couple of the guys, i'll do likewise for the ladies, just for gender equity. ;-)
mockly?
heddo98? C'mon. Ya know ya wanna run around with a bunch of other people. ;-)
