According to information found on an internet map service, there really isn't that much ocean between Boston and St. Johns.
Boston Street runs through the Seattle neighbourhoods of Queen Anne, Interbay, and Magnolia.
St. Johns Place is in Bremerton, just a ferry ride away across Puget Sound.

I can't believe i actually looked this up. See for yourself:

I looked and seen but the stress of dealing with an other f*ing Indian national who wants a web site is stressing my brain so I'm missing the significance/humour of what you're saying. By the by, what map site did that come from? I like the colours...

There's a song by GBS about the small (relatively speaking) distance between Boston and St John's... that being Boston Massachusetts and St John's Newfoundland. Vanya's take on it was to use a different Boston and St John's, which are significantly closer.

Yup- especially since Boston is just a few streets down from us. Got me wondering if there was a St. John's anywhere in the area- and there happened to be one in Bremerton.

Oddly enough, MapPoint on MSN- i've found that for driving directions, at least in the Seattle area, they're more accurate than the wildly inaccurate MapQuest. (http://mappoint.msn.com)

Hey! Stop trying to run that green line over my head! OW! Ok, seriously, see where it says "Tracyton" halfway up the green line on the Bremerton side of the water? I'm sitting right near the N. :)

Why are you looking this up?

Because I'm an incurable geek.

There's a song called Boston and St. John's which was running through my head the other day- referring to Boston, Massachusetts and St. John's, Newfoundland.

The first verse and chorus goes like this:
Girl, don't tell me that it's mornin'
Can we keep the curtains drawn?
I haven't given you fair warning
But our ship, she sails at dawn
Chorus:
And it's true I must be going, but I swear I won't be long
There isn't that much ocean between Boston and St. John's
Well I'm a rover, and I'm bound to sail away
I'm a rover, can you love me anyway?

Boston St. is just up a few blocks from my house- i happened to be driving past it when the song was playing, and for whatever reason decided to find out if there was a St. John's street/avenue/road/whatever in the Seattle area. Turned out that there's exactly one, and there isn't that much ocean (well, Puget Sound) between this pair.
