An Interesting 24 Hours
Dec. 12th, 2002 07:41 pmLast night, after work, i set out for Goth Coffee. Actually a little earlier than usual, with the intention of stopping by the pre-coffee gathering at Linda's first for a drink with the gathering throng. That crowd seems to grow every time i go to it. Trying to enumerate those present: the standing host,
h2so4,
icequeen669,
mediavore, the always lovely Grace Moonsong, Nightingale (who's name i can't ever remember),
cor_tenebrarum and
happygothboy. As that group dissolved in the direction of the Aurifice, another coalesced and headed toward Charlie's on Broadway for desserts and conversation- comprised of Corprew, Josh, Jesse, birthday boy Kelsey, Sarah and myself. Cheesecake and tumultuous merriment ensued. Afterwards, back to Aurifice for a few minutes until people realized it was between 9 and 10- and therefore still no cover at the Mercury for members and the exodus started. Walked up to the club with Sarah and Alexis (i think- there's a fairly good chance i have her name wrong). Stayed there for fifteen minutes or less- having to work in the morning makes late nights mid-week impractical, and headed up toward home.
Get home, write the best-received LJ post i've ever committed to the ether, crash.
Today, the typical meeting with my boss- and the first one i've walked out of in a long time not thinking homicidal thoughts. Got back to my office to get a phone call from my ex-ride-share buddy Cory and simultaneously an IM from my friend Jon, saying they were heading over to my building for lunch and asking me to join them. Went down and talked with them- the whole cycle of commiseration and so on. While we're talking, who should show up but JilliVoiceOfReason, in all her typical finery- who's now contracting in my building. Strange thing, when worlds collide.
All in all, as work weeks go, it has been a pretty damn passable one. Just gotta keep this up until i can get a job somewhere else. I can do this.

Jillian's super people from the little i know her, and has a simply stunning wardrobe. It was just funny to be sitting with Jon and Cory, have Jon look up and comment "There's the sort of outfit you don't see everyday," and be able to reply "On Jillian you do." Then she stopped to say hi, and i got "you know all sorts of people, don't you" looks.
