Listening to Dennis Miller on HBO. My gods, but the man's commentary is pointed. I love his approach to so many things from a comic standpoint.

Picked up the DMG today, before the lower priced copies sell out. I'm thinking that it's highly recommended that players in a D&D campaign should have all three core rulebooks and have read at least sections of them.

Enough geekery. Kinda an interesting day. Alexander has a defiant streak in him right now that pushes every limit he encounters. It has to stop, and soon. It's making parenting a challenge, because there is no clear-cut line of where 'punishment' isn't sufficiane, and when we're being too much the martinet.

He was so continually disobedient at dinner tonight, i sent him to bed right after he ate (well, sorta ate- he only finished a little over half of his food), no bedtime stories or anything. I'm still not sure it wasn't a bit too harsh, but i'd told him at least eight to ten times to sit down and eat, and he'd continued to do whatever he wanted as if i were talking to someone else. I know at this age kids just push the boundaries, but when you snap at 'em after they've overstepped particularly badly and they start to cry, it's hard not to a) feel bad about it, and b) grab 'em right up and cuddle as if nothing happened (which probably defeats the purpose.
