Well, it looks as if we may be moving, and fairly soon.
Regular readers of this column will have read about [livejournal.com profile] damashita's second mom here before. Well, the place next door to her is coming open for rent. It's in the Magnolia District of Seattle. It's a two bedroom place, and will be rented for $750 a month, which seems like a phenomenal rate for the area.
I'm so excited. It'd be a hell of a lot less of a commute where ever i end up working- which realistically will be in the city or on the East Side, and it'd be so much easier to have a social life- since going to see someone, to the club or one of the area events wouldn't take the planning and resources that the hour plus drive does now.
I'm incredibly jazzed by the possibilities.
I'll probably be going for a wander around downtown this afternoon, just to process things- for whatever reason, although sometimes solitude is a good thing for thinking, today i feel like having people around. I'll keep my 'Lectronic Leash *silly grin* with me and turned on, i'll be accessible. 360.202.4326. Hopefully that phone number will soon be changing to a new area code.....

Edit: 2:35 p.m.: Heading into town shortly. Should be in the area 3:30-4:00-ish

I'm very happy to hear this, my friend. I think it sounds like it will be a dramatic improvement in your situation. So tell us a bit more about the house and about the area. Is the house larger than what you are in now? Does it have much of a yard, and what kind of street is it on? I know Vanessa is in the habit of walking a lot of places from where you live now. Will she be able to do so in the new place or is the area not as self-contained? What kind of place is Magnolia? I remember hearing the name when we were out there, but I can't recall if we heard it in the context of where it was...

Magnolia is in North Seattle. It's just south of the Ballard bridge- this is the dividing point between the two neighbourhoods.
The place is actually smaller than what we have now, and isn't as convenient to stores- but that'd be hard to duplicate given the range of things within a tenth of a mile from where we are now. Not a lot of a yard, but should be enough for the little boy to play in.
All in all, initial assessment is that although there are some things which aren't ideal, ideal is something which almost never happens, and it'll be a lot more convenient to a different set of things.
