Detroit Red Wings - 3
Carolina Hurricanes - 1.

Just think what the score will be if the Wings show up for more than a period- they only really played about ten minutes in this one- the final ten minutes of the third period.

In other news: Went for a nice hike today from Bowman Bay to Rosario Head. The testing department had a "morale event" which was basically a picnic- none of the annoying motivational shit that such things usually entail. It was on the Fidaglo Island side of Deception Pass, and one of the hiking trails ran up to Rosario- one of my absolutely favourite places in the state of Washington, simply for the view. From Rosario, under optimal viewing conditions, you can see the Olympic Peninsula, the San Juan Islands and the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It's stunning.

*bap-baps at you* Yeah, the rest of the time they hat pit pulls out there in their place. Don't you DARE start that 'The Hurricanes are a chump-ass team the Red Wings will stomp all over' bullshit. Yeah, they won this one, but that was only game two of the series...

Look, you watched both games so far. The Wings didn't show up at all for game one- it was as sloppy a game from the boys in white and red as i'd expect to see from a Junior B squad.
Tonight was a little better, until they decided that letting Carolina loiter around in a tie game which could have been decided by a fluke goal wasn't a particularly good idea, and decided to do something about it. Result- a 3-1 victory.

*grumbles* We'll see how it goes down in the Carolinas for games 3 & 4.... That's all I'm going to say on that to stop a possible argument. (Remember, those of us from the south defend our teams to he DEATH...)

Yeah, remember i spent a few years as the sports desk reporter for the Bradenton (FL) Herald covering the Tampa Bay Lightning. I know the game. I grew up playing, although i never made it above Junior B. On their game, the Wings play the way they did in spanking Colorado in game seven of that series. On their game, Carolina plays just the way they have in the first two games this series.
