Yaaaay! I'm getting an informational interview scheduled next week for a different testing position. Date and time still TBD at present. Many thanks to cadmus for passing on a heads-up about this under-the-radar opening. Hey- it's already more than i've gotten out of the last handful of postings which popped up on the radar. :-)
Planning on going out tonight. Considered going to the VNV Nation show at the Catwalk, but am more likely to just hang out with revseandoe which will be cheaper.

Yeah. I was about to give up on ever hearing anything about that spot, figuring the post evaporated in a cloud of headcount, and suddenly i get e-mail from him this morning. Go figure! I guess as long as my expectations are low, i won't be disappointed by anything.

Well, in my opinion, your peer has some messed up time-management skills.
How long ago did you give me the heads up about the opening? 2-3 weeks?
So Friday, right before I posted this, I get an e-mail aksing if i'd be interested in an informational, and if it'd be possible to schedule one this week.
So immediately, i follow procedure, and send him a choice of times- Mondays before 2, any time Tuesday or Friday, Wednesdays and Thursdays anytime after noon. Not just three hour slots, but essentially my current availability for this week. That was 1 p.m. Friday. It's now after 3:30 Monday, and still nothing back so i know to work at scheduling other things around it- since i usually end up in at least two hour-long meetings ad hoc during the week.
WTF is up with that, anyway?
Just venting....
