Mar. 18th, 2002 03:47 pmOK. I feel better now- that meeting went well and I had answers for everyone's questions. There's still a lot up in the air, but for the moment, we've defined points of focus, and can work toward goals there, rather than having to worry about full coverage. It's unlikely that any cuts would hit our target area, but a lot of the other areas which are spec'ed currently should go away- supporting four versions of the product as valid upgrades, for example should give way to two. Likewise, we refined our operating system focus to where we think the spec will settle- so should have reasonable coverage there.
Anyway, on to non-work matters. Christine is coming by for dinner tonight, and she's got her own crop of stresses to deal with. Just gives me something else for which to be thankful- at least my work schedule is pretty static within its flexibility- unless we're in crunch-time, it's 40 week-day hours, including core hours of 10-3, with the balance falling on whatever side they happen to fit; which is a lot better than dealing with retail time, opening some days, closing others, rarely having two contiguous days off and hardly ever on a weekend.
See. I told myself. It could be worse.
