Mar. 1st, 2002 09:12 amHeard one of the most amusing- and stereotypically Canadian- radio contests i've ever heard on the drive in this morning, on one of my favourite radio stations- the Q in Victoria, BC. The big prize was a Roots Canada Olympic jacket. The objective was to be the first person to score against Q morning newsperson and (apparently) star goaltender, Kathleen Brandsma, who was in net and faced shooters about 25 feet away. She made about 30 saves before giving up a goal. It wasn't particularly great radio, but still, an amusing change from the run of the mill "be the nth caller who can tell me the answer to. . ." contests.
