Recently, someone decided to split one of the meeting rooms in my wing into two new offices. This is odd, because we often had people in both meeting rooms and because none of the non-single-set offices are at capacity -most can comfortably seat three or four, only one has more than two (and that by choice) and one is completely empty.
So, insanity aside, they're turning this one little meeting room into a pair of office which will probably get kitted out for two people apiece. They're painting today, so my office is stinking of fresh paint. I've been in less than two hours, and already have an 'icepick through the temple' class headache going. Why couldn't the painters come in at, say, five o'clock, after hours or on the weekend? I find it hard to believe we're going to do that much hiring that quickly as to need them painting now.
