Jun. 8th, 2007 10:40 pmSurvived another week of work without killing anyone, although i did have a moment when i wanted to hop a plane and put an ice-pick through someone's temple. Some people have all the nerve- after i spent an hour and a half trying to figure out if there was a way to fix the problem which was reported (well beyond the 'yup, it's broken. Put it in queue to be prioritized' which i'm supposed to do) because if i could fix it, it got fixed in real-time and didn't get sent off to our database admins, who are so slammed with mission-critical stuff that it probably would have been over a week before they even had a moment to look at, much less fix the problem. Instead, after going above and beyond the call of duty, i got ripped by one of the requestors because i didn't include something she neglected to ask for and which wasn't covered in her initial request or the response to my inquiry asking for clarification of just what the hell it was she wanted to be done in the first place.
One of my colleagues said my final response to her was too diplomatic, and should have been something much closer to "Er, you can fuck right off, bitch." Getting the work week completed was an accomplishment. Afterwards, i came and collected the family and we went for a nice walk at Green Lake. That's a much more fulfilling way to spend my time. They appreciate me.
