May. 4th, 2007 05:48 pmTwo circuits of Green Lake Park, at 4.5km/2.8 mi each. 45 minutes in total, for an average pace of 5 min/km or 7 minutes, forty-five seconds per mile. Not particularly bad for a first outing- and the times are probably a little higher than they actually were, because i stopped to re-tighten my skate laces once each orbit.
My mechanics are off, though- i'm skating too straight up- which i feel in my lower back- and i'm no longer sure how to fix this on in-line skates, because the balance feels enough different from how it feels on ice skates that i'm not sure the same fix automatically applies.
Month-end goal: 4.5 min/km, 7 min/mile averages over three circuits. Aim low, eh?
