Nov. 7th, 2006 09:43 pmIs it the height of geekery to be sitting watching national electoral returns? Granted, we switched away from the coverage to watch the Rick Mercer Report and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, because that's pretty much a moral obligation- and even though TiVo was recording Mercer anyway. The last handful of Senate races- Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri and Montana will decide which party holds the balance of power in that chamber. Montana will likely go to Jon Tester, and get added to the Democratic side of the ledger. Allegedly, the remaining Virginia votes to be counted are largely from the DC suburbs and the City of Richmond. As a former Richmonder, i can say that the ethnic composition should look promising for James Webb, the Democratic candidate there.
CNN has just projected Tennessee going in the Republican side of the books, and if you have any questions about that, i'll defer to
wicked_wish, former constituent of Bob Corker during his tenure as mayor of Chattanooga. The stories she tells aren't pretty.
Brings it pretty much down to Missouri. Makes for some fairly exciting news viewing.
