May. 7th, 2005 09:26 pmThis late-morning/early-afternoon,
damashita ran off with
white_wolf_wmyn,
mistress_gaelan and company for a clothing exchange. This left the boys and me free for a bit of time, which, with this being the day before Mother's Day, we put to passable use. We went over to the U District, and went on the prowl for something specific, which we ended up finding.
Saw the lovely
mediavore looking happier than i've seen her in the four or so years i've known her- and we figured that it's been about two years since we've seen each other. Amazing how time can get away from you. Wandered a bit more and took a turn through the U District Farmer's Market, which is much smaller than Ballard or Fremont. City councilwoman Jean Godden was there, talking with people, and
darkmuffin bent her ear a bit with his political opinions.
Off afterwards to run home and feed the monsters before taking Máire to get her second set of shots. Dealing with a rambunctious twelve-week old dog, a not-quite-two year old and an almost seven year old single handed did not meet my appraisal as a fun thing, so, to ease the situation somewhat, i came up with a solution. The dog goes on her leash, and does just fine that way. Four or five metres of 10.5mm rope and a carabiner convert pretty easily to a dual child containment system. Double Prusik the line to the 'biner, set double bowline loops on either end and snug a kid into each, clib the carabiner onto your belt and grab the dog's leash, and you've got a really handy way to get all three within arm's reach fairly easily. Yes, it gets strange looks from some people. Fuck 'em if they don't like it- it was safe and effective.
Came home to an unexpected visit from
indigopowder and her daughter. Took them home, and it has been a quiet night since. Nothing really of interest to report, so i'll stop blathering for now.
