Apr. 1st, 2005 09:56 pmWe'd like to take a moment to introduce you all to the newest member of our household.
Máire Dubh joined us this evening. She's seven weeks old, and a Newfoundland mix. For reference, her feet are about the size of twonies (which may not mean anything to the non-Canadians, but that's the closest size comparison i can find on short order), so i'm guessing she may grow into a pretty big girl. Given the origin of her breed, we'd considered calling her Mary-Mac, after a traditional Newfoundland song popularized by Great Big Sea but with her colouring elected to go with a little play on the name of an Irish singer, so for the time being, at least, she Anglicizes as Mary Black.
Best of all, she doesn't trigger my allergies.
