Sep. 4th, 2004 10:50 pmJust back in from M. and R.'s wedding today in Birch Bay.
Spent last night at the inlaws, attempting to sleep on The Most Uncomfortable Guest Bed in Recorded History™— let's put it this way- we'd gone camping at an SCA event (Banner War a few years ago, for anyone who cares about specifics; and no, we don't- especially with kids- make enough events to camp period) and had our air matress decide that airtight integrity wasn't all it was cracked up to be, resulting in us waking on the deflated matress on the ground and my body hurt less then than it did this morning (and exponentially less than it does now). At 5:35 a.m., i gave up trying to sleep on the bed and went and napped on the sofa in the living room for the next two hours, which was much more comfortable.
What started as a chilly, grey, drizzly morning turned out to have the optimal weather for an outdoor wedding. It was nice, but seemed that the post-ceremony stuff dragged on forever.
Anyhow, that's gotten me thinking about wives again, and i've decided that
damashita and i deserve a wife. Someone not adverse to three-way polyfidelity in a closed (or at least semi-closed) unit would be nice. Liking kids but not necessarily having or wanting to have one would probably also be a plus. Our musts- at least off the top of my head: emotionally and spiritually compatible with our family structureforemost; living a stable, independent life; and willingness to put up with our slow-poke poly approach. We're not looking to rush into anything, and i don't think we're looking for someone who's just a playmate (well, at least i'm not).
Oh yes— experience has demonstrated that it's best if i don't try to date straight girls. Then again, the whole 'mutual compatibility' thing probably addresses that.
Now off to collapse in a considerably more comfortable bed.
