I do need to do private consulting and fix people's PC problems for them. Had another wireless network to work on tonight- this for midwife Michelle and her husband, and they insisted on paying. It's still hard for me to put a value on it or take money from friends.

I'm toying with the concept of a two-tiered structure- $40/hr for in-home, no mileage, but time starts when i leave home, minimum ¾ hour; or $30/hr for telephone or remote support, minimum ½ hour. Does this sound reasonable? I can fix most Windows issues within an hour.

Does anyone reading this know what it's like to get The Call™— to just wake up one morning and know beyond question what it is that you're supposed to do with your life?

There are a number of things i enjoy doing. even some for which i have a degree of aptitude, but nothing of which i can see making a lifelong pursuit career. As a result, i'm having a really difficult time focusing in any particular direction or working on a particular project.

I want to finish my novel, but i'm too fucking lazy to work on it. I have a few interesting graphics arts projects in mind, put can't bring myself to take the time to take any of them on. I really like music, but can't make the time to practice anything.

I suppose it's possible to be more dispassionate about things than i am now, but i don't see how. Bleh.

I'm in a much better mind-space today than yesterday. Mucking around in Photoshop (taking the Aqua look which was so 2002 and trying to do something a little different with it- like creating wave effects inside), listening to music- a mix of taiko drumming, Russian techno-pop, 80's wave and EBMish stuff, and hanging out with my boys.

OK, Enough Aqua Stuff....

OK, so the transparency effect isn't quite perfect yet, and it lacks a little rounded feel, but it has been fun to play with.
