Interesting day. Good night Saturday night. Ended up going to the Mercury after all. Spent most of the evening talking with [livejournal.com profile] staxxy and her new goth-daughter [livejournal.com profile] imflying. Sunday was a mixed bag. Needed to update my video card, but its default refresh rate is outside the range of my monitor, which led to me playing annoying games with Windows trying to get it to cooperate. Oh, yes, and after getting things reinstalled properly and plugging the box back in, the power supply was dead. Fortunately, i had a spare, so it was just a case of taking the box apart again and switching them out- annoying, but not too time consuming. Went with [livejournal.com profile] lokheed and J. from next door to see the Red Green movie, Duct Tape Forever. Got there about an hour before the 3:20 show, only to find the show was sold out, and while we were standing there trying to figure out what to do from there, the 5:30 sold out as well, so we ended up getting tickets for the 7:45. It's a special engagement of the film- and Steve Smith, who plays Red Green in the movie and in the CBC series was on hand- he introduced the film and took time to talk with some of the fans on hand. The film itself was funny- if you watch the show on CBC or one of the PBS affiliates which carries it, you'll like the movie- the interaction between Smith and Patrick McKenna, who plays his nephew Harold is priceless. Duct tape is the handyman' secret weapon.
