Qwest was really annoying last night. Damn voice-mail tone wouldn't quit on the phone. Ordinarily, this would just be a minor inconvenience. Unfortunately, DSL isn't available in Magnolia yet. Cable modems are, but we've still got a few months of dial-up payment prepaid, so we're not in a huge hurry to jump into that- at about the time the dial-up would be due for renewal, we'll evaluate and see when DSl will be available, and how the costs equate. As a result, the modem here (because it wasn't getting a dial tone) wasn't able to connect. Grrrr. No mail, LiveJournal, crackboard, or anything else.
Fortunately, it was back in operating order this morning.

Weekend so far:
Friday- went up to Skagit for doctor's and optometrist's appointments. Got cleared to go back to work (kinda had to, since i can't afford to quit, and my twelve weeks are about up). The doctor wrote in the return order that i'm medically not supposed to work overtime for the next one to three months. Hopefully i'll be working in another position by then. Found my eye prescription has just changed slightly- none in the right eye, fairly insignificantly in the left, and will get four boxes of contacts for each paid for by insurance. I still have two of each from last year, so i'll be changing them more frequently. I probably should get my glasses updated, but i really like the frames i have now and wasn't going to pay over a hundred dollars for another type of frame so that i can see when my contacts are out. Someday i'll find another frame i like and will be able to afford it. Stopped to talk to some of the people i know up there, found GIR on half-off clearance at Hot Topic, so bought the stuffed GIR to go with the stuffed Zim.
Drove more just then that the rest of the week combined. Stopped at Northgate on the way back to get alexander some pants and went picking through the music store there. Got home to get the voice-mail sound "jammed" on the phone (as noted in the last post) and couldn't get online.
Exciting, isn't it? My life is just so amazingly exciting some days i should invest in Depends. *satirical, derisive laugh*

Today- Tried to sleep in a bit. Woke up some time around daybreak, dozed, woke about 7:45, dozed more, woke about 8:45. Finally gave up and got out of bed about 9:20. Phone problem was finally resolved. damashita's friend Connie was coming down to visit- we all went out to lunch and wandered around Pike Place Market. damashita ended up finding a violin for the class she'll be taking in the $150- but it sounded as good as some of the ones in the $600-800 range, shockingly (she's played some in the $450-$600 range which had all the tonal qualities of some strings stretched over a piece of dowelling jammed into an empty cardboard box).
For whatever reason, i'm just really tired now. I should at least put in an appearance at s33kr's absinthe party or go play games with J. and M. next door, but i have the motivation to do neither. I'm so amazingly apathetic at the moment. Trying to listen to upbeat electronica, thinking that maybe getting "dancey" might get things going, but so far it's not really happening. Das tut mir leid. :-(
Well, the night is still comparatively young. *sigh*
