I've come to the recent conclusion that time is a function of having things to do. You've been there- when you're busy, time flies by; when you're not, it all but takes on retrograde motion. Wanna guess what sort of day i'm having?
Oh, yeah- the sun just came out, so it's bright out all of a sudden. Probably has warmed up a little also.
Need to stop being so lazy and get writing.
Thanks to a few friends, i've found Neil Gaiman's journal/blog/whateveryouwanttocall it. Could make for some interesting reading, especially since he's one of my favourite contemporary writers.
Planning on going to coffee at Aurafice tonight, which means i'll be sitting at my desk later than usual. On the reverse, though, since i knew that would be the case, i slept in for almost an extra hour this morning.

Fuck Yahoo and Yahoogroups.
I went in this morning to change all my egroups from my ISP mail account to my domain mail account. Sounds innocuous enough, right? So, i switch them all over from the old one to the new one, and click the submit changes button. The Yahoo system returns a database error, and says to try again in a few minutes. So i wait a few minutes, and try again, same problem. Log out, log back in, try again. Didn't get the error message, just a list of groups, some showing the old address, some the new one. Only about a third of the groups i'm on show up. One of the absent ones is an invitation-only list which is currently without an owner, another is a list on which i'm the only active moderator, and since the list was originally high-traffic, it was set up as moderated.
Just sheer joy. Yahoo support blows chunks - this from a three-year battle to get them to take down a GeoCities site i formerly owned, but had pretty much abandoned since they wouldn't let me change the contact e-mail to one i still had access to after we changed ISPs about five years back- so i'm not anticipating they're going to do anything in the near future.
Now i'm cranky *and* without most of my daily mail fix.

Home finally. Met some people, put faces and in some cases names with online names. Did absolutely no flirting, just a lot of watching the group dynamic. Got to hang out with revseandoe again- it's always a good thing because i know i can trust him to kick my ass if i get too pretentious.
Feeling a need to gather with writers, but don't really know any locally. May have to go in search of, although i'm not sure i have the social skills to assimilate into another community. Enough for now. Time to shower and then off to bed.
