(no subject)

Well, i'm back at work. Listening to a web feed of the Olympics, because that occupies my time. Still no response from the damn people who set up services how to get this shit to work. I'm frustrated. Have I mentioned that before? Oh. I have? Are you sure?
Anyway, today looks like it's the day of the unexpected- Belarus beat Sweden in the men's hockey quarterfinals 4-3 (for their first win outside the qualifiers, and against a team which hadn't lost, including stomping Canada 5-2). The Russian team beat the Czechs, also, primarily because I didn't wear my jersey as i did when they lost to the Finns (yeah, right!)
Anyway, i'm off to the job posting website- i'm not doing this any more if it can be helped.

Waaaah!

Just had one of our developers- Quy, the only one with whom I work on a regular basis- stop in and say thanks. I usually keep a jar of hard candy on the side of my desk farthest away from me and near the door. On about a daily basis, Quy stops in, and always asks if he can have a piece, in spite of the fact that every time he asks I tell him that he's always welcome, that the jar is there for whomever wants a piece whenever. Late last week, when he stopped in, he asked if one of the colours was a lucky colour, and declined to say why.
Today, he explained- he had an interview with another group, and will be moving out of Office Shared Services on Monday because they offered him the position. Good for you, Quy- you're a great guy and will be an asset wherever you go.
I want a new job- I want out of here. I'm just going to whine about it a little more until I feel better.


There. I feel better now. Well, right after Quy's news, I went looking for other internal jobs, and applied for another technical writing position. It's something I can do, and, more importantly, given my current state of mind, it's something I can do and feel productive on a daily basis while doing it.
