Sep. 20th, 2003 04:32 pmI's hab a code. Went to bed early last night and was asleep before 11. I think alexander has a touch of it as well, and between that and being sore from his tetnaus booster on Thursday. At about 4, he came into our bedroom and announced that he didn't think he felt well enough to go to his skating lesson today. When i went to put him back in his bed, i got the Tractor Tom theme stuck in my head, making me want to self-lobotomize with an icepick. It's still there, running around in the background.
By 7:45, alexander was up, having changed his mind- so it was off to skating. By the end of class, he was winding down, but i thought i'd let him free-skate for a few minutes before we left. He fell down in less than five, saying his leg hurt, and spent the next fifteen minutes sliding himself toward an exit from the ice. Ran home to drop him off before i ran off to soccer practice— but he refused to get out, saying that he wanted to go (he usually does, but then gets bored a half hour into the two hour practice, and spends the remaining ninety minutes asking when it's time to go home). So, against my better judgement, i took him along.
Smallest turn-out yet. :-( Only six people showed for practice today. Did quite a bit of running. Legs will be sore in the morning. Right knee is holding up fairly well, though- and it was a big concern for me before starting to play a few weeks back. Goaltender qua midfielder. Who'da thunk it. If nothing else, it'll get me into something approximating shape, assuming the body holds up. Felt a step off in goal today. Just missed making two diving saves which i think i should have had, but otherwise handled the ball acceptably. Turned my left ankle slightly toward the end of practice, so there'll be one more place sore tomorrow, probably. Hope that the last few weeks have just been an aberration and more people start coming out.
Time to pop some more Sudafed and drink another litre of water. *sigh*
