ravencallscrowsAnyone here have any experience with Movable Type? I'm thinking about deploying it and using it to blog writing-related stuff on my site (where i can keep it all in the same mySQL database or whatever) and trying to use that to drive creativity.
On a completely unrelated note: who the hell interviews a potential new hire without having a copy of the candidate's resume at hand? And do i really want to work for someone who can't find the mobile phone number (line four, nice bold type) on mine or will just use the home one to get in contact with me for an interview he rescheduled after blowing one off completely the previous day?
Broke out the bagpipes for a bit today. Sounded particularly horrible, but i haven't played since the fall. Fingers still worked, but the drone reeds need adjusting- the two tenor ones kept cutting out. Need to find some beeswax, too, because the chanter is loose in the stock, but not another thickness of thread worth.
And now for something completely different: i'm not feeling overly social, and haven't really for the last few weeks. If you want to spend some time with me between, say, now and the middle of May, now's the time to make a request for my time. If one of you has a request for a specific social outing or just wants to do something, don't expect to just see me out, leave me a comment or send me e-mail. It's nice having people over occasionally, but we're only running about a 60% rate of people actually making it after making some sort of plans, for whatever the reason. Rescheduling usually isn't a big deal if something has come up, but the courtesy of knowing that you're not going to make it as expediently as possible is appreciated. If you know us well enough to be invited to the house, you know the phone number- is it asking too much to expect a call if you're running really late or having problems or whatever? If you don't have a mobile phone, i'll even reimburse the cost of a call from a pay phone. I know this probably sounds really snippy, but i'm tired, bitchy, frustrated about a lot of things, and having two no-shows in the space of a week does little to restore my faith in humanity at large.
