Took alexander skating again today. He's finally beginning to understand the whole concept of pushing off and gliding. There are a few other pictures from our outing posted- take a look at this post in [livejournal.com profile] damashita's journal to see all three of them. I'm even in the first one- i'm the relatively Zdeno Chara sized individual. Note to self: must remember to get alexander an appropriately sized Red Wings jersey, since he's outgrown his old one.

Otherwise, a pretty decent day. Alexander's having a blast with the new swing in the front yard- he spent much of the morning running in and out of the house as he got cold from being out in the wind and warmed up inside. Will try to get pictures of him there posted soon.

As we get closer to playoff time, i'm considering reprising a column i've done the past few years in the Hockey public folder at Microsoft- In Memoriam pieces written for each team as they're eliminated from the pursuit of the Stanley Cup. [livejournal.com profile] hockeypuck_74— you're more than welcome to repost these there to keep the tradition alive if i don't make it back in time to do it myself. Right now, i'm thinking the conference finals are going to be the Detroit Red Wings against the Vancouver Canucks in the West, and the Ottawa Senators against the Philadelphia Flyers in the East. Detroit over Ottawa in six for the Cup.

He's going for the junior Bobby Clarke look.

He's got too many teeth, unless you've taken to beating him again.

Speaking of no teeth people, I was back in Illinois this past weekend. *shiver*

Scary. Well, it could be worse. You could have been in Alabama, where there's a complete set of teeth in the whole state- they just get passed around from individual to individual.

I almost joined them. Took a puck in the chin last week. Stupid half shields.

On that note, I'm off to my game. Penalties. Penalties for all!

Where you playing? Saw an old pal who has a game tonight in Renton- if that's where you heading, say hi to David Galloway. He's another one of us- and one of the few members of the Cavedog team i still see from time to time.

Kingsgate tonight. I will be playing in a second league in Renton later.

I'm going to take a look at your fantasy league. Oh, and....probably next weekend I'll be over on the left side of the lake during the day on Saturday. Ford, in their infinite wisdom, put independent rear suspension on all of the Cobras and didn't bother to put decent bushings on it. The result is serious ass hop and fragged shafts. SOOOOOOO....to be "proactive" (this is my management buzzword for the day) I'm going to put new ones on it. The only shop I know of is in Shoreline or something like that. I'll let you know when I do and maybe we can meet up for lunch.

Oh, and I'd love to re-post your comments as teams die in the playoffs. Robert tried to be you the other day and I had to nicely tell him (again) that if he pretends to be you, I will kill him, resurrect him, and then kill him again.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Unfortunately for Robert, even though i have home and road variants of Feds' jersey, i don't think that i am Sergei. And i doubt he spent the two years as a sports reporter. Yeah- by all means, let us know when you're over here- if all else fails we'll go grab a beer at Earl's in the U district and harass [livejournal.com profile] mediavore.

I've decided to skin Robert alive, then roast the fleshy pieces to make a stew for my cat. Objections?

If i were the cat i'd be objecting.

My cat will eat anything.

Red meat content in my blood is low, otherwise I'd probably just skin him and not think about cannibalism. I need to eat something or kill something. Either or.
