Apr. 2nd, 2003 05:40 pmWell, ended up talking to the recruiter with whom i was playing phone tag yesterday. As it turned out he had two positions which he wanted to discuss.
One of them is.... my old job. Since it's been four and a half months, i'm guessing that my old boss is on at least his second different contractor. It'd take at least $20 an hour more than i was making to get me to go back there, and the only way i'd agree to go at all would be until the product RTMs in June. Nope. Ain't gonna go there again at all.
The second position would be testing web interfaces for e-commerce applications. SQL, IIS, security, but what the manager apparently wants is someone with solid test fundamentals foremost. Anyway- talked to the recruiter at about fifteen to ten, with us planning on meeting
damashita's mom and step-dad at the zoo (ten minutes or so from our house) at 10:30. At about ten, the recruiter asked if i had time for "a couple more questions." What he ended up asking was a complete screening scenario- and those "couple more questions" ended up running for about an hour and a half. Anyway, i apparently passed that part and will get passed on to the manager as a candidate.
Y'know, technical interviews are challenging enough when you're expecting them. Doing one you completely didn't expect is frelling draining. At least i survived it and didn't walk away from it feeling like a complete idiot, and apparently did a good enough job to move on to the next part.
