Well, ended up talking to the recruiter with whom i was playing phone tag yesterday. As it turned out he had two positions which he wanted to discuss.

One of them is.... my old job. Since it's been four and a half months, i'm guessing that my old boss is on at least his second different contractor. It'd take at least $20 an hour more than i was making to get me to go back there, and the only way i'd agree to go at all would be until the product RTMs in June. Nope. Ain't gonna go there again at all.

The second position would be testing web interfaces for e-commerce applications. SQL, IIS, security, but what the manager apparently wants is someone with solid test fundamentals foremost. Anyway- talked to the recruiter at about fifteen to ten, with us planning on meeting [livejournal.com profile] damashita's mom and step-dad at the zoo (ten minutes or so from our house) at 10:30. At about ten, the recruiter asked if i had time for "a couple more questions." What he ended up asking was a complete screening scenario- and those "couple more questions" ended up running for about an hour and a half. Anyway, i apparently passed that part and will get passed on to the manager as a candidate.

Y'know, technical interviews are challenging enough when you're expecting them. Doing one you completely didn't expect is frelling draining. At least i survived it and didn't walk away from it feeling like a complete idiot, and apparently did a good enough job to move on to the next part.

Bitch, complain. Bitch, complain.

You should take a spot on your old team. I'm out of Office contacts to email hateful, spiteful messages to every day. Pain in my ass, you people are.

With my old fucking moron boss? I'd be tempted to find my friend who has the demolitions license and see if there wasn't some sort of bomb residue i could sprinkle all over the bastard's office before calling INS and the FBI to report him as a suspected terrorist.

Blame everything, especially Outlook shit on him. And why can't you run ProcMail or SendMail on a nice Linux box?

You forget whose team SUPPORTS that bastard build. Us. Thank you very much.

I have to go to Illinois tonight. Lucky me. I know you're jealous. And it's not even good parts of Illinois, like the south side of Chicago. NOOOOOO....I get to go to Champaign. Home of....cows, I think.

Always up for meeting new 'n' cool people. You'll have to warn everyone of my Hawkish ways, though.

That and my tendency to make fun of your silly hat.

Your Russian parade hat. Or just that mop that you pass off for hair.

To be fair, it's more than Cory has.
