Acid etched (or anodized, if you can afford it) aluminum would be my suggestion as far as material goes, unless you can afford titanium.

Best source of materials i know of is The Ring Lord (http://www.theringlord.com/) which stocks all of the aforementioned rings and scads more.

Or did you mean that metal against bare skin would be chilly? ;-)
