ravencallscrowsWhat a weekend.
Got nearly nothing of merit done, other than getting a shelf unit hung up in the bathroom and stocked with the contents of a box and a half of miscellaneous stuff put up. Also did loads (literally) of laundry and got most of it put away. This summarizes Saturday morning and afternoon fairly well. Also did some cooking- made pasta sauce for the evening.
Saturday evening we had a special visitor for dinner- Farfalle alla Vellegia with a nice merlot, salad and bread. Afterwards, we sat, had a quasi-snuggle populated with all four cats, and watched Four Weddings and a Funeral until almost 2 a.m. It's so nice to have company over, especially when it can be arranged that alexander goes to bed so that it's an adults-only time- nothing wrong with the little boy, but he's an absolute drama queen, and it's nice not to have to deal with an active four-and-a-half year old who wants to be the epicentre of attention.
Got an absolutely wonderful and equally unexpected holiday present as well, and am all but speechless still. "Thank you," is all i can say.
Went out for a bit downtown today. Stopped by Piroshky Piroshky and had a zvezeda- wonderful star-shaped Russian pastry, for those of you who have yet to be initiated into the experience of these yummy treats. Sarah, consider yourself warned. Also went to talk with the people at Yazdi- ended up chattering and laughing with the co-owner and buying![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
damashita a new hat. Came home and noodled around a bit, spent the better part of an hour ranting with Jon about life, relationships and hockey.
