2002: A Pre-Holiday Retrospective

January: Introduced to the wonderful world which is LiveJournal. Started showing signs of burnout. Much bitching and little action. Nothing notable resembling a social life.

February: Continued general discontent and venting. Still nothing really happening socially, other than initial interest in perkigoth Christine.

March: Nascent signs of being social. Start occasionally making it to the Mercury with revseandoe. Whole family hangs out with Christine several times. NorWesCon.

April: Emerge from social cocoon into the wild and wooly world that is the SeaGoth community. Have a sorta-date with Christine. Meet s33kr,ametysta and re-meet miss_bordeaux all on that same night. Nothing is happening with C. Birthday. First of two GBS shows of the year. Very scary night in Redneck Hell. Anniversary.

May: SeaGoth Beltaine Beach Burn. Meet staxxy, connect as if we've known each other for millennia. Continued Goth Coffee and occasional Merc goodness. Meet darkgoddess7, sarmonster,icequeen669, gkr and oodles of others.

June: Meet long-time friends gwynn_aaron and ithilien when they are in Seattle on their honeymoon. Meet heddo98. Prom. Pre-Merc dinner party with quite a few interesting people- hadn't managed to even attempt co-ordinating something like this before. Meet mediavore.

July: Pseudo-dating occasions. Determine to investigate relationship possibilities with one person, on the ensuing weekend we both get somewhat entangled with other people, not that either of us has regretted doing so. Adopt my sister-of-different-parents lysana. Get diagnosed as clinically exhausted and put on medical leave.

August: Pseudo-dating occasions, generally really innocent wanders around downtown Seattle. First ventures into pre-coffee gatherings at Linda's. Completion of left ear row of piercings. damashita and mediavore meet. Moving becomes likely. Year's second GBS show. Meet annathepiper. Get clinically diagnosed with major depression and given more time off of work. Tax refund gets fouled up, causing panic, later resolved.

September: Get new place. Fix and paint new place. Move into new place. Meet wilson_lizard. Get tooth pulled. Get tax refund foul-up resolved. Begin getting settled in new place.

October: Anti-war protesting with greenwood. Discovery that we're expecting around alexander's fifth birthday. Return to work. Manage to get out on occasions other than Wednesdays.

November: Contemplated introductions for select single folk. Acquired Quaker parrot with a rather irritable temperament. Thanksgiving with in-laws in Mt. Vernon. Reconnected with greenshadows and his partner.

December: Started getting overly reflective, and wrote about past relationships. Got to spend some time with both staxxy and mediavore for the first time in months. Lost job. Refused to panic. Quit taking anti-depressant meds. Have, to date, survived.

It was a very interesting summer. Many thanks to my friends, both old and new, for putting up with me through the year.
