Got out to the Merc for a bit last night- it was a moral imperative, as i had to deliver natal anniversary felicitations to [livejournal.com profile] mediavore and [livejournal.com profile] thedivas, both of whom are celebrating birthdays this weekend. To the both of you, may this year be your best yet. Met Leah's new significant other as well, and i have to say i've never seen her look happier. Good on you, chavera.
Got to talk with a few other people- Phil, Jason and Deborah- i haven't seen in a while. Also finally met 'the' Josie. Called it a night fairly early.
This morning, domestic recreation, hearing from [livejournal.com profile] damashita about a dream she had in which [livejournal.com profile] mediavore played a part, and moderate spasms in the upper right quadrant of my back, running roughly along the line of the scapula. Not sure what the plans for the day include, but at present they're as advanced as running around the house in kilt and t-shirt, reading the Sunday Seattle Times and picking around on the 'Net. A bit brisk outside for that attire, so i'll likely change if the agenda takes us out into public.
The new Quaker probably has a name- given its green colouring and indefinite gender, we're thinking about Peridot.

I love Sundays, it's all about orange juice, lounging around, and the Seattle Times.

Good to see you again :)

Yes, i did. Forgive me for not mentioning that. I do, however, get to talk with you a little more regularly than Phil, Jason and Deborah, who i haven't seen in months.

Peridot is nice. I'm jealous...we went to the pet store today and I saw two things I wanted They have this totally amazing Monitor lizard who's just gorgeous and they had 3 corn snakes in. They also had these really disgusting Giant Black Millipedes *shudder*. And they had a chameleon that was cool too...I *hate* going to the pet store...I see so many things I want *whine* :) Happy for your new family addition :)

Hugs
Skye

We've three now- in addition to Peridot, we have Cricket, a little rescued parakeet; and Cinnamon, a pearly cinnamon cockatiel.

Cockatiels are magnificent birds. We had two lutino cockatiels a while back and we loved them dearly. sadly due to our incredibly small apartment (at the time) and susan's asthma, we had to give them up. One died last year, but the other is still going strong and we visit him often at Susan's parents's house. :)

Someday when we have a house and enough room to keep the cats away from them we'd love to get birds again. Some cockatiels and an African Grey would be really cool... too bad they cost a fortune!

Thanks for coming! But you left before things got really wacky. ;)
The only photo I have of you from the night:

Yep, but it's alright. I notice people either spell it correctly and pronounce it wrong, or pronounce it correctly, and spell it wrong. It's just because I like to be difficult. : )

I find that some nice thermal underwear allow for the kilt to be worn in all sorts of otherwise inhospitable weather. And since fashion expert Lauren says it is ok (in fact she likes it ;-D ), I guess it is.

I have a wonderful cockatiel who picks up every noise, whistle, and song imaginable. His latest surprise is that he now mimics the tones that the phone makes while dialing! He knows parts of Peter and the Wolf.
