A weird question has come to mind after having lots of bleeding in my mouth over the past two and a half days. Why does blood taste coppery? I'd expect it to taste of iron- after all, isn't iron one of the more important components of haemoglobin? After all, people who have iron levels which are too low get anaemic. Weird.

Regardless, it's done now- finally. Feeling much better today and got out somewhere that wasn't a dentist's office- scouted fencing costs, then wandered through the Fremont market, then dropped into Dusty Strings. Came home and read with TV on in the background- watching the Alias marathon and flipping during commercials expecting the Seahawks to come up with a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again (not that i really care). Waiting for the Alias season premier tonight in about ten minutes- Jennifer Garner's both pretty cute and fun to watch (as well as fitting my preference for women who have at least a hint of aggression), and the show is written pretty well.
Had a treat for dinner- pizza from Pagliacci. Yum. Shame my favourite of their delivery drivers doesn't work out of the local one. ;-)

No, really. If it were a hockey game, i'd have watched every second of it- probably even if it were some horrible matchup like the Minnesota Wild against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but football? If it hadn't been the local squad of laughingstocks, i couldn't have cared less who won. But the billboards around town are so much funnier when they lose- there are some people who apparently expect the team to do well. Me, i'll hold out for the Red Wings repeating with the Cup, although both of your teams (Bruins and Sharks, right?) should be good this season as well.

If you didn't care, mo chara, you wouldn't look.

And yep, the Bruins and Sharks are the ones I torture myself with on an annual basis. Being a Bruins fan is more the torment of "where did we go wrong after the 1970's" while the Sharks are more a case of "when do we get to make it past round two, huh?".

I think it's the direct result of working in the sports section of a newspaper for two+ years- where sporting events were always on. I have enough of an interest in general to want to know what the score is, but not enough to sustain much more than a series of commercials' worth of watching at a stretch.
