Since the beach party on Wednesday, i've been thinking about fire. Fire as a primal force, fire as a representation of the divine force of change, fire as the neans of transforming potential energy into thermal energy. Also been thinking about playing with it. I've done little bits of things- pulling flames from a candle and the like, but the spinning bits looked like too much fun. I can do basic staff work without significant problems- but what else is involved? Must look into it. Any of you who are involved in it, please feel free to make recommendations/suggestions etc.- they'd be most appreciated.

I had this idea for a long time now and it sounds like something you would appreciate. I've been thinking of going out somewhere by a lake in the summer, making a huge bonfire, painting all the happy people in tribal styles and do some skyclad fire jumping, and then anything goes. Kind of like night of Ivan Kupala in the Russian Pagan times. Three problems are gathering enough people of both sexes, finding a perfect weekend when everyone has time and finding a nice pretty secluded place with good energy and where no one would bother us.

I'm hoping *hoping* HOPING *HOPING* we're moving south in the not too distant future, at which time it will hopefully become practical.
As it is, i've been making the damn drive for about five years now, and, although i haven't been in a serious wreck yet, i have this continual foreboding that if i don't manage to cut my drive time drastically, i'm going to die behind the wheel.
I'm hoping for no farther north than south Snohomish county, but would prefer Wallingford/Fremont/Greenlake. Regardless, that's 45+ minutes closer than now.
