Ended up taking today off from work- call it a mental health day or whatever- and taking alexander to the Street Fair. Heard a surprisingly good Celtic-tinged band called the Furies, and spent a few minutes after their set talking with the flute/whistle player- who's pagan and a GBS fan. Wandered around, got some really neat journals with handmade paper and brocaded silk covers.
May try volunteering to help put together a Gaelic language intensive for the Highland Games again- we'll see if their volunteer coordinator this year is more on the ball than the one last year was. It sucks when people complain about a lack of volunteers, but don't bother to contact people who expressed a willingness to work on something several months before the event.
Watched the Canucks-Red Wings game. Looks as if Vancouver may make good on my prediction that the Wings' pilot light went out, and that they shouldn't be considered an automatic favourite. Kinda a shame- they're my two favourite teams in the Western Conference, and it'll make the playoffs a little less interesting to see one of them eliminate the other in the first round.
