Feb. 27th, 2002 12:00 pmJust got out of the worst meetings I've ever been in. I've never seen a test manager rip someone the way one did today. It would have been bad enough one on one, but this was publically, in front of other testers, project managers, developers, and localizers, even people outside of this immediate department.
Can you say "Way out of line," boys and girls? I knew you could.
On top of that, there were a few things raised in the meeting that just got beaten into the ground, as if there wasn't consensus to begin with.
Can you say "Overkill," boys and girls? I knew you could.
Not a good thing coming from a manager who expects all his people to commit to staying through the end of the product thirty months off. Fuck you very much too, eh?
Oh, yeah, and no one brought donuts or bagels to the meeting, so in addition to being forced to witness the public flagellation of a colleague, we didn't have prime snackage either.

Date: 2002-02-27 08:02 pm (UTC)As it is, the tester who was eviscerated was advised to mention the incident a) to the meeting organizer (who happened to be on vacation this week; and b) to HR, because it was well over the line and he'd been advised to do so by several testers, two developers and a PM.
