Today, i dressed up for work in a manner semi-appropriate to the calendar. After catching an inordinate amount of flack for not doing so last year- for example "Of all the people around here who might have dressed for Hallowe'en, I'd expected that you would...", i was one of two in my entire department who did. Borrowing cupcake_goth's Shallow Fashion Details: sagey green heavy sanded silk lace-up shirt, black velvet doublet with lozenge-shaped cutouts on the sleeves (think vaguely Landsknecht, but not definitively modelled on that historical precedent), burgundy velvet belt-pouch, black linen pants, knee-high black boots (roughly Cavalier style, but with a more rounded toe).
