roadriverrail and i (i know he does this, because he's journalled about doing so over at least the last two years) take some sort of perverse joy in coming up with some sort of underlying theme tying them all together? Mine aren't usually as esoteric as his (i don't know if nancyblue is privy to the underpinning logic, so shan't spill it), but still fun to pull together.
