Tomorrow, in my role as release manager, i get to put on my old hat of test lead and tell someone that his stuff can't release unless the show-stopper bugs which were in it today when he ran through it for me are miraculously fixed overnight by his off-shore developers. Given how badly broken it was in spite of those eeejuts being two weeks past-due, i'm not holding out any hope that it'll really be fixed.
The sad part is that the guy who wants to release it doesn't seem to think that his show-stoppers are anything which should hold his release. This is another reason why test should be involved. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any, just the adjunct to the eejuts.
