Last night i was shocked to learn that there is at least one thing more annoying than hipster kids-namely loud, drunken hipster kids.
There's an old rock-n-roll saying- "If it's too loud, you're too old." Apparently N. and i are both too old- even with earplugs in, it was pretty damn noisy, and the annoying kids didn't do anything but contribute to the noise. The band N. wanted to see wasn't bad- a sort of mix of 'classic' blues rock with some ethereal stuff. It was good, though, to get to hang out with an old friend.

damashita is out-and-about with her mum for some Mother-Daughter Time™, so the boys and i are hanging out and stuff. Because they're captive to my whims, we've watched the first of the day's World Cup matches, run to the mall to pick up a pair of A5 sized notebooks at Daiso (because they're a good size for keeping one at hand when the urge to scribble strikes and are only $1.50 each), and then picked up the premier novel by a personable local writer because we happened to see it (go go Gadget powers of observation). I'm looking forward to digging into Four and Twenty Blackbirds as soon as i finish the series i'm currently wading through.
