Apr. 20th, 2006 09:20 pmToday, we did our monthly release. After hitting a minor snag last month, we did this one at a sane hour rather than at 11 at night. We may have inconvenienced some users in Hawaii and in Australia or New Zealand, but the downtime was fifteen minutes, and we fixed a bunch of little stuff- and were awake enough that if something had gotten goofed up we'd have been alert enough to fix it quickly.
I also have some business folk thinking i'm amazing- because they had an issue arise late in the afternoon, and i got it fixed for them in time to go out in tonight's release. Sure, it was minor- removing two lines from the web.config file, but they don't know that, nor do they need to- they had a need and we got it addressed in way less time than they expected.
The quest for the Stanley Cup starts tomorrow- both the Senators and Red Wings open their playoff series tomorrow.
