Nov. 10th, 2005 09:54 pmCan I dismember the eldest child now? After repeatedly being asked to calm down and stop kicking the ball in the house, he finally kicked it one last time. Unfortunately, it was into one of the top compartments of the entertainment centre in the living room. I heard breaking sounds, and immediately asked him what happened. He said he hit the Blue's Clues bank up there. Well, he did- and shattered the handmade glass dragon which was behind it, one of two
damashita and i had on their stands there. Beyond annoyed with him right now.
And while we're on the topic of being annoyed, today i got contacted by a recruiter who is either really really persistant or keeps atrocious records of attempted contacts with people she might have an opportunity to place. Within the space of a few hours, she'd sent two e-mails and called my mobile phone (while i was at work) four times. Now, if there were a hot job she had to offer, you'd think she'd at least supply some details about the position. Nada. Y pues nada. So she got a fairly brittle e-mail response that, well, she might do well to be just a little less enthusiastic and share a little more information to entice people to respond to her.
Speaking of recruitment and jobs, there's one potential position on the horizon which could be enticing. If it's offered, i'm going to have to think hard and look at all the details and do something of a cost-benefit analysis on the two positions and compensation packages- mind you i still don't have either a payscale or a job description for the position into which i'll have completely transitioned after tonight's release, and that's an extremely sore subject. I'm past the pissed-off point where i'm seriously considering leaving for any plausible offer, and being in a position where i already know the processes and personalities has some really compelling advantages, but it's not going to compensate for being kept hanging if there's a significantly tempting offer.
